Free Italian Stoner Music

Because we all love free music. This one popped up on the Sludge Swamp today. As posted by Mari.

I hope you liked the tunes offered by the bands hosted in the Swamp Comp Vol. III.
Let’s go a bit more into some of the bands “new” to the Swamp.
The Dallaz is one of them.

I’m starting with the band The Dallaz not only because, well, I’m a fan of singer/bass player Fraz, but because Fraz alerted me that today the band officially released their debut album on the Italian DIY label Moshpit Culture.
A preliminary version of the debut album had been previously spread around on Facebook and on the Perkele portal, but this is the “official event”!

The Dallaz dudes are Fraz (aka James Cotonato aka Luca Frazzoni) on vox, bass, Cheevo (aka Alan Rocker) on fuzzled guitar and backing vocals and Porraz (aka Bob Nicotine) on drums.
The power trio is from the millenary town of Bologna, in Northern Italy, but these guys express their deep love for the hot American wastelands through their powerful blend of southern metal and hard stoner rock.

If you liked the other Italian heavy southern metal bands like, for example, Witches’ Brew, well, The Dallaz are going to increase the dose of whiskey-fueled heavy greasy raaaawky tunes spread around by their colleagues. Sounds and atmospheres are boiling hot and dusty like the car hood parked under the sun outside the roadhouse along a straight road crossing a southern desert.
In the debut album Ozium Idol you’ll find six killer tracks including Losers, the one already into the Swamp Comp.
Infectious groovy tunes, great riffs, and that voice, Fraz’s voice … mmmmm! Fraz possesses a powerful, clean but very macho, hot voice which further adds loads of groove to the tunes.
But I must also mention the excellent production (done at the Sergio’s and Riff-A-Lot Studios in Bologna) that does justice of all the musicians involved.
Not bad at all for a debut, dudes!

I’m pasting here after the “press release” of the debut album as it is posted on Moshpit Culture, in both Italian and English. The Italian visitors of the Swamp will laugh or at least smile, as The Dallaz are jolly guys who like to joke …
(For the benefit of the English readers, Boodrio is the deformed transcript of Budrio, a place near Bologna – and in some northern dialects the word also sounds like a big beer belly …)

The Dallaz!!
Sei pezzi di southern rock venati di stoner che renderebbe fieri Sue Ellen e J.R., scaricabili aggratis e adatti per riscaldare questo freddo inverno 2011. Enjoy \m/ \m/

[ENG] From Boodrio, Tennessee, the band who turned on coach Dan Peterson and gave him the boost in order to serve as head coach of Olimpia Milano: fresher than Lipton Ice Tea, harder than Viagra family pack… The Dallaz!!
Six pieces of southern rock blended with stoner that would make proud of them even Sue Ellen and J.R., free download to warm up this cold winter 2011. Enjoy \m/ \m/

Fraz is one of the pillars and managers of the Italian Perkele stoner-psych-doom portal. He is also involved in the “paleolithic doom” band Humanity 1.0, which provided a juicy heavy track for the Swamp Comp Vol.2. That is the other project by Fraz I would sooo love to hear more from …
