Review Jefferson Colby – Dinosaurs & Fireworks
Jefferson Colby are not new to these pages as they’ve been featured a few times on our Bandcamp Recommendations. This (number) piece from Texas proves that there’s lots of big things from the state and that is their sound from their newest release, Dinosaurs & Fireworks.
Dinosaurs & Fireworks has been out for a little while now. I had been putting off listening to it for a variety of reasons but now I ask myself? Why? This album is huge. It’s got huge sound, it’s fast, it’s well written, out going and it’s spunky. The guitars are excellent, lots of catchy riffs. They lyrics can be just as catchy. The pace is up and down. It’s starts out pretty fast and furious then slows down a bit at “An Amoeba & A Mile” and “The Plank.” “Surf Aloof” is a bit slower as well.
Overall I really enjoyed this album. Dinosaurs & Fireworks was better than what I was expecting. Jefferson Colby’s past releases were pretty strong and this album just goes and proves that the band is continuing to improve with each release. Check it out for yourself below.
