First new music from Melvins Lite release “Freak Puke” (June 5, Ipecac) available now
Melvins Lite is an additional incarnation of the Melvins. The line-up is Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas & Tomahawk). Melvins Lite’s debut release is “Freak Puke,” available June 5 via Ipecac Recordings. “The Melvins have a long history of mixing up our line-ups and I think that’s what has kept us relevant for so long,” explains Osborne. “Consider the Freak Puke record the fifth side of the four-sided Melvins triangle.”

RED FANG Announce North American Tour Dates
Portland Oregon’s RED FANG are in the midst of wrapping up their European tour with a show tonight in Moscow, Russia and their final gig tomorrow in St. Petersburg, Russia. Before they had back state-side the band is pleased to announce that they have just confirmed a new batch of North American tour dates. Included in this run are headlining shows as well as shows serving as direct support to The Sword. All tour dates can be found below.
RED FANG will be headlining “A Benefit For Grant High Art Department” scheduled to take place Friday May 25th at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland, OR. Support will come from Lopez, Nether Regions and Grant High’s own Hell’s Parrish. Doors for the show at are 7:00 pm with the first band hitting the stage at 7:30 pm. RED FANG Announce Benefit Show For Grant High Art Department
Over 20 years ago, while a student at Fort Collins High School, Aaron Beam of RED FANG helped stand up for music programs put at risk due to lack of funding. Today, Portland schools are struggling to fully fund art, photography, ceramics and other arts classes. RED FANG is honored to headline this benefit to give Portland students greater access to the arts, and have basic materials like paint, paper, and clay. (more…)

TOTIMOSHI Announce Spring Tour Dates
California desert death rock trio, TOTIMOSHI, will hit the road again later this month for a short run of West Coast shows. The tour will commence on April 12 in Bellingham, Washington, then hit Centralia, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Long Beach, and San Diego. TOTIMOSHI will be joined by Black Elk on select dates.
The band will be touring in support of their Avenger full-length, release last year via At A Loss Recordings. Offering up their signature brand of heavy eclectic rock, Avenger was produced by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Shrinebuilder, Tool), mastered by John Golden (Melvins, Mike Watt, OM) and includes appearances by Dale Crover (Altamont, The Melvins, Shrinebuilder), Brent Hinds (Mastodon) and Scott Kelly (Neurosis, Shrinebuilder).

ACROSS TUNDRAS: Spring U.S. Tour To Embark In Two Weeks
Nashville, Tennessee’s panoramic country crushers ACROSS TUNDRAS will be heading out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels on a massive American tour this Spring in support of their Neurot Recordings debut Sage. The band also pressed and hand-screened 300 copies of Sage on 2xLP as well as a brand new split 7″ with fellow Tennessee heavy psych rockers Hellbender, especially for these tour dates. Conan w/. Serpent Venom @ The Croft, Bristol 25th March 2012
Conan are one the UK’s leading sonic destroyers in all things heavy. Their tone is something which is so thick you could inhabit it. There are probably a network of caves and tunnels in their tone, it’s that big and earthy. So on record it’s heavy, live, it’s an entirely different experience. It heaves like the tide, dragging the audience in and then rushing out scattering arms and legs into the sand.

I was lucky enough to see Conan on Sunday, with the great Serpent Venom in support and while I was there I took a few photos of which you can after the jump. Enjoy!

BLACK COBRA Announce Tour Of Australia & New Zealand With Fu Manchu
Following their devastating shows at SXSW last week — both as part of the massive ToneDeaf Touring showcase as well as the Southern Lord/TPOTR/Brooklyn Vegan rager — BLACK COBRA have just confirmed a Spring tour of New Zealand and Australia with stoner rock icons Fu Manchu! The trek hits three cities in New Zealand then skips over to Australia for another eight shows, with several of the appearances confirmed as BLACK COBRA headlining shows without Fu Manchu.
This all comes in addition to the previously announced forthcoming BLACK COBRA tour actions including supporting Corrosion of Conformity through Europe alongside Zoroaster in April on the way to the annual Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland directly before the new tour, as well as massive North American tour supporting COC once again, along with Torche and Gaza later in the Summer.
