HIGH ON FIRE Frontman Talks About Making Of ‘De Vermis Mysteriis’

via Blabbermouth

Toby Cook of The Quietus recently conducted an interview with Matt Pike of the San Francisco Bay Area hard rock band HIGH ON FIRE. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

The Quietus: The title of the [new HIGH ON FIRE] record, “De Vermis Mysteriis”, obviously has links to the grimoires of Robert Bloch and H.P. Pike: Yeah, well, he died at birth so that Jesus could live and then forwards himself through time and sees the destruction that Christianity causes and tries to travel back in time to warn his brother — who’s innocent of all this. But there’s lots of little factors in between that are Lovecraft-ian, (more…)

RIVAL SONS once again teamed up with video director Greg Ephraim for the “All Over The Road” video, which can be seen below

RIVAL SONS frontman Jay Buchanan commented: “Just like in the last video, there was no green screen used for this one. We actually did drive a Cadillac through outer space with a bunch of hot, naked chicks in the backseat. I haven’t seen a final edit yet because they’re trying to lower it to at least an ‘R’ rating. We’ll see if that actually happens.”

The Hard Ponys is a rock band from San Francisco. The music they make isn’t freak-folk, noise-core or post……anything. It isn’t art damaged. The melodies aren’t sunny, sun-soaked or sun-dappled.
These guys have thought long and hard to come up with a name for what they do, and what they finally came up with is…Rock ‘n’ Roll. The kids are gonna love it. Trust us.
