Bandcamp Recommendations 7/21/2011
The Bandcamp Recommendations for the week are here. Today marks a full one year of doing these recommendations. It’s been a blast. The past year I’ve exposed you to countless amounts of bands. Each band that has graced these pages has been great. They’ve put out great music well worth everyone’s attention. Do to the state of the economy in not just the US but pretty much the rest of the world, money is tight so all the music here is free download. It’s a little way to get something for nothing. That being said, the bands that make the music deserve something. Throw a few bones their way, buy some physical media, go to a show and buy them a beer or three or other merch.
There’s a lot of bands from a lot of different genres represented here. Even the most pickiest person in the world should find at least 1 band here they like. If not, then go back to listening to Nickelback. So without further ado, here’s a jam packed edition to celebrate the feature’s 1st birthday.
Well what would a Bandcamp Recommendation article be without a little self promotion? The Soda Shop Records first release is Land of Lincoln by the now defunct Low of the Low. Land of Lincoln is some great Midwestern hard rock. They had the sound of a band you’d hear from Ohio and they were tearing Chicago a new one.
